The Season of Expression

Starting a business was a big step for me. I had to be honest with myself—could my art really be profitable? Even though I had dreamt of owning my own business for years, I was also excelling in my career. So, the notion of, “should I stay, go, or do both?” felt overwhelming at times, but also inevitable—because deep down, I knew a choice was coming.

From a professional development trainer to a project manager, I loved the different roles I held. I mentored others, designed and developed programs, and had conversations that inspired growth in training and employee development. In my last role, things weren’t always easy—learning curves, growing pains—but overall, it was meaningful, and I had a team who truly wanted the best for me. Despite all of this, I chose another path.

It wasn’t a quick leap. I gave myself time to prepare, to gather what I needed, and to trust that when the moment came, I’d be ready. Eventually, readiness turned into resolve. The plan became action. I resigned. And I discovered that leaving isn’t always about escape; sometimes it’s simply about listening to the call within.

After starting my business, one of the things I enjoy most is how my writing motivates what I design. Say, “Hello!” to Voyager’s Journal. Here, words and ideas fuel creativity in ways that feel both grounding and expansive.

I’ve never felt pressure to write, because pressure comes from outside expectations. It’s never been performative, because I’m just being me. It has been a culmination of:

🌱 Cultivation—tending to ideas that wanted to grow, whether or not anyone else saw them.
🔭 Voyage—exploring terrain without a map, but feeling drawn to walk it anyway.
🔥Authenticity—creating because something inside insisted on being expressed.

In corporate life, success often meant measurable outcomes: revenue, promotions, KPIs. And while I understand how those things are important, I find ease in this new space—where success is measured by something far more personal: being expressive.

That’s the essence of creative authenticity:
🎨 Laboratory of self—experimenting with ideas, imagery, and voice without needing them to perform.
🌌 Expansion—widening into possibility instead of narrowing into productivity.
🔑 Integration—weaving the lessons of my corporate past into this new chapter, where structure and freedom coexist.

This is the season I’m in now. Not one of achievement alone, but of expression—where the act of creating is the reward, and where the voyage itself is the destination. And if you find yourself in your own season of transition, may this Journal remind you that expression has its own kind of success.

Let's create together,
